Ontario does not currently offer a provincial EV rebate. The federal EVAP provides $5,000 for eligible vehicles (must be made in Canada or FTA countries, MSRP under $55,000). Chinese EVs are not eligible for EVAP.
Are Chinese electric vehicles eligible for incentives in Ontario?
Chinese-made EVs (BYD, Zeekr, Chery, NIO, XPeng) are NOT eligible for the federal EVAP ($5,000) due to country-of-origin rules. Ontario does not currently offer a provincial EV rebate that would apply.
