Future Mobility, Explore More
XPeng is the AI-first automaker. While Tesla pioneered EVs, XPeng is pioneering the next frontier — true autonomous driving that works on any road, in any city, without pre-mapped routes. Their XNGP system uses LiDAR + AI to navigate complex urban environments.

The XPeng Story
He Xiaopeng left his role as VP of Alibaba in 2014 to found XPeng Motors with a radical vision: build the smartest cars on Earth. XPeng has invested over $5 billion in autonomous driving R&D, employing 5,000+ AI engineers. Their XNGP system is the first to achieve city-level autonomous navigation without HD maps — the car sees the road in real-time through LiDAR, cameras, and neural networks. The G6 SUV launched in 2023 with 800V architecture, delivering 570 km range and 10-80% charging in just 20 minutes. XPeng is also developing the X2 flying car through subsidiary HT Aero, which completed its first public flight in Dubai.

XPeng in Canada
XPeng's XNGP autonomous driving is specifically designed for complex, unmapped roads — exactly the kind of varied terrain found across Canada, from downtown Toronto to rural Quebec highways. The G6 at ~$48,000 CAD offers Tesla Model Y performance (3.9s 0-100) at a lower price, with a more advanced self-driving system. The 800V architecture means 20-minute charges at any CCS station, and XPeng's over-the-air update system continuously improves the car after purchase.
Canadian Arrival Status
XPeng is targeting a Canadian market entry by late 2027. The brand's centerpiece is its XNGP autonomous driving system — a LiDAR and AI-powered platform that navigates without pre-mapped HD roads, a distinct advantage on Canada's varied terrain from downtown Toronto to rural Quebec highways. The G6 SUV, expected at approximately $48,000 CAD, directly competes with the Tesla Model Y but offers a more advanced self-driving system and over-the-air updates that continuously improve the vehicle. Its 800V architecture delivers a 10-80% charge in just 20 minutes. XPeng has not yet announced its Canadian distribution network. Chinese EVs are not eligible for the federal EVAP rebate, though Quebec's Roulez vert incentive ($2,000) applies. Over 2,400 Canadians have already signed up for launch alerts on china-ev.ca.
