Chinese EVs in Kelowna
Kelowna is a city of 150K in British Columbia, Canada. Chinese electric vehicles from brands like BYD, Zeekr, Chery, NIO, XPeng, and Lotus are entering the Canadian market following Canada's tariff reduction from 100% to 6.1% (in-quota), effective March 1, 2026.
With a quota of 49,000 vehicles per year at 6.1%, Chinese EVs are now available in Canada. Prices listed represent current Canadian MSRP estimates. British Columbia does not currently offer a provincial EV incentive for Chinese-made vehicles.
In winter, expect approximately 25% range reduction at -20°C. All Chinese EVs listed use LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) or NMC battery chemistry, both proven to perform well in Canadian winters with proper preconditioning.
