China-EV Index

Each month, the China-EV Index measures what visitors to China-EV Canada asked for: how many people used a form to be contacted about a Chinese electric vehicle, and for which models, brands and provinces. It tracks demand before these vehicles are even available in Canada.

Method

The Index is built from the requests actually submitted through the forms on china-ev.ca. Here is how the figures are produced.

  • •Source: requests sent through the vehicle forms on china-ev.ca, from June 28, 2026 to October 9, 2026 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
  • •Who is counted: people who gave a phone number and ticked the box agreeing to be contacted by China-EV Canada and its partner dealerships. People without a phone number or this consent are excluded from the total.
  • •Unit: one person is one email address. A person may have made more than one request.
  • •Privacy: only totals are published. Any group of fewer than 10 people is left out.
  • •Population: Statistics Canada preliminary estimates for July 1, 2026 (Table 17-10-0009-01).
  • •It is not a poll: these are self-selected readers of one website, not a representative sample.

What this data does not show

The Index describes what visitors to China-EV Canada asked for. It does not claim to measure anything else.

  • •It does not measure what “Canada” wants: it only describes what visitors to China-EV Canada asked for.
  • •These are not sales figures: these vehicles are not yet for sale in Canada.
  • •It is not a representative sample of the Canadian population.
