Overview
About the Zeekr 001
The Zeekr 001 is a luxury shooting brake — part wagon, part sports sedan — built on Geely's SEA platform, the same modular architecture that underpins Volvo and Polestar EVs. A CATL Qilin 100 kWh battery delivers a genuine 620 km of WLTP range, while dual motors produce 400 kW (544 hp) and 686 Nm of torque, launching this 2,390 kg vehicle to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The shooting brake body is the party trick: 680 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats means it swallows family luggage or a Costco run without sacrifice. Inside, a Yamaha 21-speaker audio system and adaptive air suspension with multiple ride-height settings lift the cabin experience well above the estimated $50,000 CAD price. DC fast charging peaks at 200 kW and fills from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes. The LFP and Qilin battery chemistry holds up well in Canadian winters, though plan for roughly 25% less range at -20°C — about 465 km in real-world cold-weather driving. The Zeekr 001 is not yet confirmed for Canada, it is excluded from the federal EVAP rebate, and the brand has no North American dealer network. For those willing to bet on Geely's Volvo-grade engineering at a steep discount to Porsche and BMW, the 001 is one of the most compelling shapes on the horizon.
Editorial take
Our Verdict

- CATL Qilin battery and Geely SEA platform — Volvo-grade engineering DNA
Watch Out For
- Not confirmed for Canada — timeline depends on tariffs and homologation

What this means for Canada
We deliberately publish no screen sizes for this car. Zeekr Europe contradicts itself: the zeekr.eu product page claims a 14.6-inch centre screen and a 24.3-inch AR head-up display, while Zeekr's own dated product leaflets for the same vehicle say 15.4-inch and 14.7-inch. Until Zeekr resolves it, a number here would be a guess. Note too that the 2026 Chinese 001 is a different car — 900 V architecture and a LiDAR-based system — not this one.
