Overview
About the Xiaomi SU7
The Xiaomi SU7 is the most talked-about EV debut of the decade: the smartphone giant's first car sold out its first year of production in China within 24 hours. It is easy to see why. The flagship dual-motor version produces 495 kW, hits 100 km/h in 2.78 seconds and draws freely from Porsche Taycan design language, while the 101 kWh Qilin battery promises up to 700 km of CLTC range with 350 kW ultra-fast charging. The real differentiator is the ecosystem: the SU7 integrates with Xiaomi's phones, home devices and HyperOS software more deeply than anything from a legacy automaker — a preview of the car as a connected device. Canadian buyers should temper expectations: the SU7 is not confirmed for North America, pricing here is speculative, and Xiaomi's automotive service footprint outside China is embryonic. But as a statement of how fast a tech company can master car-making, the SU7 is a landmark.
Editorial take
Our Verdict
Strengths
- Supercar acceleration: 495 kW and 0-100 km/h in 2.78 s
- Deepest phone-car ecosystem integration on the market (HyperOS)
- 101 kWh Qilin battery with 350 kW ultra-fast charging
Watch Out For
- Not confirmed for North America — Canadian pricing is speculative
- 700 km is CLTC; real-world range will be meaningfully lower
- Xiaomi's service and parts network outside China is embryonic

What this means for Canada
Two traps with this car. First, the widely repeated claim that LiDAR is reserved for the Max is wrong in both directions: on the 2024 range it is on the Pro as well, and on the 2026 next-generation SU7 it is standard across the entire line-up. Second, Xiaomi does not publish charging power in kW, climate zones, a heat pump or CarPlay support in its official configuration sheet — the 486 V / 871 V and 7 kW / 11 kW figures circulating online come from press coverage, not from Xiaomi, so we do not print them. The refrigerator is a paid option on all three trims.

Equipment compared
Price and range only tell half the story. Here is the equipment, line by line, against the rival you would actually cross-shop.
| Equipment | Xiaomi SU7not sold here yet | Tesla Model 3 Standard Rangesold in Canada |

| Heated seats | Front and rear, standard | Yes |
| Ventilated seats | Yes | Yes |
| Heated steering wheel | Yes | Yes |

| Vehicle-to-load (V2L) | 3.5 kW | not published |
| Power tailgate | Yes | not published |
| Max AC charging | not published | 7.7 kW |
The two columns do not rest on the same footing. The rival is described from its Canadian specification; the Chinese vehicle from the market where it is actually sold today. Any future Canadian version could differ.
Tesla Model 3 Standard Range — These figures describe the Rear-Wheel Drive, the version this page covers; the Premium All-Wheel Drive at $49,990 charges at 11.5 kW AC instead of 7.7 kW. As with the Model Y, Tesla's Canadian pages stay silent on the heat pump, Apple CarPlay, front trunk volume and pack architecture — treat those cells as unknown, not as absent. Charging is NACS with a J1772 adapter included, and wireless charging for two phones at once is standard.
"Not published" means the manufacturer does not document this — not that the vehicle lacks it.
